MIA

I don't know where a month has gone. I know that everyone has their busy schedules, but I have never been so preoccupied. I can't really say that I've been "busy," but "things" just happen, I guess. One little trivial thing after another. I don't really have any pictures to scrap yet, but I've not even looked at what pics to print of Josh's birthday, and that was in November! (Not to mention all the pics that have piled up on the computer since then!!) So, nothing crafty going on. We didn't travel for the holidays, except for an over-night trip to Pigeon Forge for a wedding. (More pics to scrap, after printing!) And no one came to visit either. So where did the month go??? We did have a wonderful Christmas. The boys got a couple of board games each, and a Wii, with a game each (Ben-Lego Indiana Jones, Josh-Lego Star Wars). We also got Sports Resort for all of us. We are all addicted to the Wii (well, maybe not so much Steve). And we've enjoyed family time playing Sorry!, Aggravation, Connect Four, and Mouse Trap. And Josh has been preoccupied building his new Legos set of the Millennium Falcon. I think he is obsessed with Star Wars! lol We also enjoyed playing in the 9-12 inches of snow we had the week before Christmas. Now it's just a yucky, mucky mess. But we're suppose to have a "wintry mix" tonight....we'll see....So, hopefully, things will get back to normal soon, right after the Christmas decorations come down, and the house gets straightened up, and the boys go back to school, and Steve is back to working a full 40 hr week (no holidays or vacation left--hehehe!), etc. but not necessarily in that particular order. {sigh} Hope everyone else has had a wonderful Christmas, and a Happy New Year, too!

Halloween in December?!

Yes, I know that it's December, and I know that I'm behind on getting my "crafty things" posted. But, better late than never? Right? Everyone knows that from mid-November on it can get kinda crazy. And with me, well, I'm no exception. From Josh's birthday on the 18th to Thanksgiving Day, to putting up the Christmas tree and other decorations, to events at school and other fun times at home, preparing the Christmas cards, etc. The list can go on, depending on how involved you get. Then there's the everyday stuff, life-goes-on kinda stuff. So, I am a little behind, o-well...life goes on...

So, here's Ben, waiting to carve the Jack-O-Lantern. Remember, he doesn't like the guts, so he just helps carve the face...

And Josh, he LOVES the guts. It's what he looks forward to the most. He likes to play with them, smushing them between his fingers. Otherwise, he only wanted to stab poor ole Jack...

Speaking of Jack, here's our spookiest creation to date. Jack of the past was silly or sweet...

And of course, the big night...Ben as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle...Kowabunga, Dude!

And the Force was strong with this one. Josh as Obi Wan Kanobi, but easily looking like, and mistaken for Luke Skywalker...

(If you'll notice, "Pumpkin Guts" and "Kowabunga, Dude!" have a very similar look. This is a lift of a design from the October issue of Scrapbooks, Etc. magazine. I absolutely love it. I've used it several times now {the first time was for the pumpkin patch pages}, and I will probably use it several more times before I grow bored of it! It works really well for me. :D )

One more post?!

Today is my BFF's birthday, and I just wanted to put this out there: Happy Birthday to the bestest friend that anyone could ever hope to be blessed with. Your friendship means the world to me. And I feel blessed that after all the years and all the "stuff" we've been through, you are still my best friend. Forever? I hope. So, here's to you, my ForeverFriend. I love you, dear friend. Happy Birthday. :)

CUB SCOUT "Go See It"

We had our first "go see it" with our Tiger Den last night. Oh, boy was it fun! We got to go inside the fire station. We saw the offices, and the place where the firefighters relax, with tables and chairs, and even a big TV. We met the Captain, and several firefighters. Then the best part...the TRUCKS!! They explained what each truck does, and what all their equipment is for. They've got some pretty cool tools!

I figured that this was something that Ben would like to see, so he got to go, too. (Josh was so happy to have his brother there, he kept hugging on him, and helping him to get a better look, he even tried to pick him up so he could see better! Ahh..brotherly love.)

It was a lot of excitement, and with that many boys running around, a little warm, too. And these two were getting tired (and a little cranky).

They even got to climb up inside one of the trucks, but it happened so fast, that I missed the photo op. Such is life....you blink, you might miss it!

Thanksgiving Play @ school

We were (are) so proud of Josh. He did such a good job in his class play. He even practiced singing his songs at home. I even had one of them stuck in my head for awhile..."Albuquerque Turkey." We took the video camera with us, and got it all taped. But for the life of me I can't figure out where the UBS cable is to upload it to the computer! I could finalize the disc and do it that way, but it's only half full. So here is some of the pictures I took. Given, they're not too good, as I was quite a ways away from the action, and had to zoom. But nevertheless, here they are.....

I'm not exactly sure what you would call the instrument he's playing, but he took it very seriously...

He even had a duet (and no, that isn't one of his girlfriends :) )...

He was so happy to have both Mom and Dad come to see his play, as if we would miss it! Not to mention how happy he was that he could go home early!!

This was a writing that he had to do in class, telling what he is thankful for...It brought tears to my eyes...(please click on the picture to read)...

I am thankful for such a wonderful family. I have been truly blessed....
