Birthday Boy!

Hello there!

Does anyone know where 2012 has gone?

The days and weeks are flying by in a blur.

So anyway....we celebrated Josh's birthday on Saturday.  

Dad took him to the store to pick out a special cake, and to get some balloons.

While they were gone, Ben and I made up something like a scavenger hunt.

We hid all the packages....

...and wrote clues/riddles to finding them.

Some clues were scrambled up words, some were written backwards,

some you needed to view in the mirror.

"Weekly chores might be a bore...but you'll find a box where you put your socks."

The first clue (or riddle) was in his birthday card.

It took him a minute or two, but he found it.

(Please excuse the clutter in the kitchen.  ;D )

"You look at me everyday, sometimes you use me to play,"

was the hardest riddle for him....the TV.

We had to give him a little 'hot-or-cold" help, but he eventually found it.

His most favorite present was something he'd been looking for, and asking for...

a Beyblade "L-Drago Destructor" (it's basically a top).

He loves to sing the "Rainbow wig song."

He has also taken an interest in Chess lately....

Ready to go have some fun!

(Yes, Ben had been crying.  Josh tried to cheer him up.  He's so sweet.)

At the BK lounge...

We enjoyed having the floor to ourselves...well, almost.

He even got to invite a friend.  

(Yes, I noticed that the friend is a girl.  But he swears she's just a friend.)

(Even though he held her hand a couple of times as they went around together.)

Watching Madagascar 3 after a long day of fun.

All in all....I think he had a pretty wonderful birthday this year.

Even though the 'scavenger hunt' for his gifts was fun,

I think the highlight was having a friend to enjoy the fun time with.
